The Legend of Alcobaça, also known as the Legend of Inês de Castro, is a famous Portuguese legend with historical roots. It tells the tragic love story between Prince Pedro (later known as King Pedro I of Portugal) and Inês de Castro. The story is associated with the Monastery of Alcobaça, a real historical site in Portugal.
